| Sound for Moving Image | This module introduces audio post-production techniques for visual media, including sound editing, foley, and ADR. Students will synchronise audio with picture and build immersive soundscapes for film, animation, and multimedia projects. |
| Digital Live Sound Engineering* | Students will learn to set up and operate digital live sound systems. Topics include FOH mixing, monitor setup, EQ, effects routing, and managing small- to mid-scale live events using digital consoles and wireless systems. |
| Electronic Music Production II | This module builds on MIDI and DAW skills with advanced arrangement, sampling, and automation. Students will produce complete electronic tracks and explore genre-specific techniques for refining structure, texture, and transitions. |
| Mixing Techniques I | Dive into the basics of mixing, learning how to balance tracks, adjust levels, EQ, and apply basic effects. The goal is to understand how to enhance individual tracks while maintaining clarity in the overall mix. |
| Synthesis I | This module covers fundamental synthesis techniques such as subtractive, additive, and FM synthesis. Students will design original sounds using oscillators, filters, envelopes, and modulation in both hardware and software environments. |
| Electronic Music Performance | Students will design and perform electronic music sets using controllers, DAWs, and MIDI mapping. The module focuses on building live performance skills, stage readiness, and creative integration of hardware and software tools. |
| Synthesis II | Expanding on Synthesis I, this module introduces granular, spectral, and modular synthesis. Students will create custom patches, explore signal routing, and develop unique sound palettes for advanced music production. |
| Mastering | Learn how to polish finished mixes into fully mastered tracks. This includes learning how to prepare audio for different distribution formats, adjust loudness levels, and ensure consistency across tracks on an album. |
| Sound Design for Video Games* | In the fast-growing gaming industry, sound is critical for creating immersive experiences. This module equips you with the skills to design sound effects and atmospheric audio for video games, enhancing the player's interaction with the game world. |
| Music Design for Games* | This module focuses on composing interactive music for games. Students will use vertical layering and sequencing techniques to build adaptive scores that respond dynamically to gameplay events and player actions. |
| Music Business | Students will gain essential knowledge of the music industry, covering copyright, royalties, branding, and distribution. The module also explores career pathways, artist development, and monetising music in today’s digital landscape. |
