Specialist Diploma in Live Sound AY23/24
Working audio professionals and graduates with relevant diplomas who wish to specialise in live sound engineering and live streaming.
Equip learners with practical skills to manage digital live sound operations, live mixing, and live recording in both in-person and streaming environments.
This course is a specialist programme and is not a pathway to another diploma or degree.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

| Digital Live Sound Engineering* | Discover the world of digital live sound production as you learn how to plan and execute a small to medium sized live event. You will learn how to set up the stage and connect the entire system together. You will also get plenty of hands-on experience with a digital live sound mixer and be proficient in achieving the desired sonic results. |
| Digital Audio Video Networking (DANTE)* | Explore the Dante protocol and how this key digital technology enables the set up of complex networks that integrate multiple audio signals. Equip yourself with industry-standard Dante certifications up to Level 2 that are recognised across by the live events industry across the globe. |
| Introduction to Audio for Live Streams | Advance your ability to be a part of different events by learning how to capture and stream live audio. You will be introduced to how to set up a system to capture live audio, and how to optimise your microphone and computer setup to ensure crystal clear live streams without interference. |
| Live Event Recording & Mixing Techniques | Develop advanced live sound skills by learning how to use routing, gain staging, EQ and compression as well as using spatial effects like reverb and delay to produce live recordings. You will be able to capture the unique magic of a live performance and mix the recording to industry standards. |
| Live Streaming Operations | Go beyond and develop additional skills by learning how to set up video and lighting gear for a live stream. Prepare yourself to meet the demands of a rapidly changing industry by becoming adept at setting up a full audio and video feed, and capturing and broadcasting the stream. |
